The Project

When I Grow Up . . . aims to give youngsters a chance to experience the reality of future careers. Successful applicants will participate in a bespoke day of activities in a real setting, working alongside professionals. This experience will be tailored to match the age and abilities of the child but will aim to give an authentic portrayal of the profession. We will endeavour to make the experience as fun, engaging and informative as possible. All sites will be suitably risk-assessed before the visit.

Each successful entry (child) will receive 1 x coat, 1 x base layer, 1 x pair of trousers and 1 x pair of shoes.

Successful entries will be filmed on location for content to be hosted on our website and social media channels.

How to Apply

By completing the above form, the child and responsible adult will be entered into the applicant longlist. An initial selection will be based on the availability of your chosen experience in your local area. We will contact all shortlisted applicants via the email address submitted at entry.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a video of no more than 60 seconds. This should include both child and responsible adults, stating their choice of work-experience and introducing themselves.
